One of the things that is great about blogging is meeting new people. Often you get to know people online, but it is particularly special when you get to meet a blogger face to face. Last night, Shonu and I accompanied Mayor DeStefano up to the Enfield Democratic Town Committee meeting. We took some time before the meeting to chat with ‘Genghis Conn’. He had some nice comments about our get together over on his blog.

Genghis wrote, “John DeStefano is an interesting and engaging man who seems to have a great deal of knowledge about many, many subjects. … He is energetic, charismatic and, if you haven't had your coffee yet, a little overwhelming, too.” MVD echoed similar thoughts based on her experience of Mayor DeStefano at the Groton Democratic Town Committee.

Mayor DeStefano summed it up with a comment saying, “The great thing about political campaigns is meeting people who are from different places and different experiences but who are passionate about working together to get the same things done.”

Personally, I enjoyed meeting Genghis and I hope that everyone takes the opportunity to get out to Democratic Town Committee meetings and other events to meet the Mayor and one another as we all work together to help make Connecticut better.
