Budget Watch

Posted by Matt Bailey on April 18, 2005 - 12:34pm.

I'd suggest this link be removed pronto. We don't want voters to see us as the party of big spenders. Rell is trying to restrain our spending efforts, and if the voters see this, we're dead.

And you're helping by bringing attention to it? If this link isn't pulled, we need to ignore it. OK?

Republicans like to talk about the party of big spenders. Yet if you read the article, you will note that the alternative "budget included about 98 percent of Rell's initiatives" and "was less than 2 percent over the bottom line of Rell's budget plan".

Clearly, this isn't big spending. It is intelligent spending. We need to encourage discussion about the best ways to meet the educational and health care needs of the state while improving our infrastructure.

Removing a link to an news article isn't how we encourage discussion.
