DeStefano Gains Ground In Latest Q-Poll Governor's Race

Who can best help Connecticut's families?
New Haven - The latest Quinnipiac University Poll shows John DeStefano - Democratic nominee for governor - continues to gain ground on Gov. Rell. Since the Feb. 2006 Q-Poll, DeStefano has gained 22 points in the head-to-head match-up with Gov. Rell, despite the fact that many prospective voters have not yet focused on the governor's race and the contrast between the two candidates.
"Governor Rell gets credit for not being John Rowland, but Connecticut badly lags behind in creating jobs, in lowering health care costs, and making college affordable. John DeStefano believes Connecticut can do better. This election is about which candidate has the leadership and ideas to improve the lives of Connecticut families, by creating jobs, lowering health care costs, improving schools, and reducing property taxes," said Slap.
"Over the next three months, Connecticut voters will be presented with a real choice - Governor Rell, who offers no change or John DeStefano, who believes Connecticut can be a much better state to work and raise a family. We are confident that Connecticut voters do believe Connecticut can do better and will support the leadership and ideas of John DeStefano," said Slap.
