DeStefano Campaign Selects Hartford Headquarters

New Haven- Mayor John DeStefano and Mayor Scott Slifka, Democratic candidates for governor and lieutenant governor, announced that their campaign has selected a site for its Hartford Headquarters. The office at 901 Main St. is in a highly visible, street level location that will give the campaign a huge presence in downtown Hartford. It will also serve as headquarters for an aggressive field operation, comprised of phone banking, canvassing, and voter outreach. The Hartford Headquarters will open next week.

"This campaign is mobilizing a field operation that will reach out to voters across Hartford and the entire state," said Slifka. "Our campaign enjoys incredible support in Hartford and in the coming weeks we will build an even bigger and stronger coalition determined to win in August and November."

Joining Scott Slifka at the news conference was, House Majority Leader Chris Donovan, State Representatives Minnie Gonzalez, New Britain Town Chair John McNamara, and Hartford School Board member Andrea Comer. Former Mayor Thirman Milner is the Hartford campaign chairman.

"John understands the issues most important to people in Hartford," said Slifka. "No other campaign has a comparable track record, or vision for helping Connecticut's families."

DeStefano has won the endorsement of 40 Connecticut labor organizations - representing more than 160,000 working men and women - and has raised more than $3.2 million, more than any Democratic candidate for governor in Connecticut history.
